Bio
Sports executive ed ex road cyclist Italian. Professional from 1985 to 1998, fu world champion on the road nel 1991 e nel 1992. In career he obtained 72 victories. He won nine stage wins al Tour of Italy, as well as the final success in the 1990, in addition to four stages al Tour de France e due alla Vuelta a España; he also made his a Milan-Sanremo, a Tour of Flanders, una Milan-Turin e a Tour of Emilia.
Considered, together with Laurent Jalabert, one of the last riders able to compete at the highest levels both in the classic one day in both large races in stages of three weeks: thanks to its versatility, Bugno was able to win time trial races, mountain stages and with arrival in sprint, always participating in all the most important cycling competitions of the season. Between 1990 and 1991 he was also number one of the UCI world rankings.
